Former Cambridge and Somerville boy Dan Zevin popped into the Brookline Booksmith on Wednesday to read from the latest in his string of hilarious memoirs, “Dan Gets a Minivan: Life at the Intersection of Dude and Dad.” Among the highlights: a call from his mother during his talk (he didn’t answer his cell, then worried about screening his own mom); his musings about what he’d done as a stay-at-home dad to make his children proud (turns out he’s excellent at separating the recycling); and his conclusion about being less cool than he once was. “When life deals you a minivan, you might as well enjoy the ride.” BETH TEITELL
