Judge: Bishop inquest transcript to be made public

Feb 10, 2012 01:08 PM

A Massachusetts judge has decided to make public part of the inquest transcript into the 1986 shooting death of the brother of an Alabama university professor accused of killing three colleagues.

The Patriot Ledger ( http://bit.ly/wsPYHt) reports that Judge Kenneth Fishman said Thursday the release won’t come for at least 10 days, giving Amy Bishop’s lawyers an opportunity to appeal.

Bishop was indicted in the murder of her brother Seth in June 2010, after she was charged with opening fire on her co-workers at the University of Alabama in Huntsville in February 2010, killing three and wounding three.

The shooting of 18-year-old Seth Bishop at the family’s Braintree home was initially ruled an accident after Amy Bishop told police she accidentally shot her brother while trying to unload her father’s shotgun.
