2 face alcohol charges in death of Mass. teen

Jul 27, 2010 11:38 AM

Two Palmer residents face charges that they supplied alcohol to a 17-year-old boy who later died in a dirt bike accident.

Police say 45-year-old Robin Kolakowski and 28-year-old Kenneth Dean will be summoned to appear in court on charges of procuring alcohol for a minor.

Detective Sgt. Scott Haley tells the Republican newspaper of Springfield that the teenager, Erik Norman, drank alcohol during a bonfire in April at the apartment complex where Kolakowski and Dean live.

Police say Norman died when he crashed his dirt bike into a utility pole after leaving the bonfire.

Kolakowsi denied giving alcohol to the teenager. Dean declined comment when contacted by the newspaper.

No date has been set for their court appearance.
