A 26-year-old woman who was seriously injured Monday night by a hit-and-run driver while walking her dog in Westwood remained hospitalized today, Westwood police said.
Jillian Belanger was walking in the 400 block of Washington Street when a car traveling in the southbound lane struck her, police said. Officers responded to the scene at 8:52 p.m., police said, and the woman was taken to a Boston hospital with serious injuries.
Westwood police said the driver of the vehicle that hit the woman did not stop, but the car likely sustained front end damage and now has a broken headlight assembly. Investigators determined the vehicle was a mid-sized white or light-colored four-door sedan with a moon roof.
The Norfolk County district attorney’s office released surveillance camera video and stills of the car.
