The Massachusetts economy posted its first job losses in seven months as the state’s unemployment rate held steady at 6 percent in June, the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development reported Thursday morning.

Preliminary estimates showed that Massachusetts lost 2,600 jobs in June, the first monthly job loss since November.

The current national unemployment rate is 8.2 percent.

For the year to date, the Massachusetts economy has added 32,700 jobs, the executive office said.

For reporting purposes, the state’s economy is broken down into 10 private sectors. In June, six of those sectors added jobs. Financial services and manufacturing were among the sectors adding jobs. The construction and the leisure and hospitality sectors were among those that had declines.
