Vermont wins, Maine ties in Hockey East

ORONO, Maine (AP) — The University of Vermont won, while Maine skated to another tie in Hockey East play.

In Boston, Vermont goalie Brody Hoffman fought off a late rush by Northeastern with key saves, allowing Ben Albertson’s game-winning goal Friday night.

The Catamounts’ 2-1 Hockey East victory improves the team’s record to 9-14-4 and 6-10-4 in league play.

Playing at home, the University of Maine came back from a 2-0 deficit and tied No. 13 Boston University 3-3 in front of a national TV audience.

Maine is 8-15-6 on the season and 4-10-6 in Hockey East play.

New Hampshire was idle Friday night but plays at Boston College on Sunday.
